Tell us what has happened

A Scottish solicitors’ practice, regulated by the Law Society of Scotland. Free to use. Our panel is not the whole Scottish profession, and you may instruct any solicitor you wish. Where we do not act for you ourselves we introduce you to a panel firm, and that firm may pay us a share of its fee.

Tell us what has happened

Four short steps, and about two minutes. You tell us what has happened, we work out which area of Scots law it belongs to, and pass your enquiry to a firm that does that work. Nothing is sent until you confirm.

    Before you tell us anything

ineedalawyerto.com is a trading name of Rooney Family Law Limited, a Scottish solicitors practice regulated by the Law Society of Scotland. If you send an enquiry, we read what you tell us, work out which area of law it belongs to, and pass it to one firm we work with. We never send an enquiry to more than one firm.

Some enquiries, such as an injury or medical treatment that went wrong, involve information about your health. The law treats that as a special category of personal data, so we ask you to confirm twice what you want us to do with it: once now, in general terms, and once at the end, before anything is sent.

You may stop at any point. Nothing is sent until you press the button on the final step. Sending an enquiry does not instruct anyone to act for you.

    A few details

These help us identify the area of law and route your enquiry. Answer only what you can.

    About the injury

Time limits matter in Scotland. In most injury cases a court action must be raised within three years.

    About the treatment

Time limits matter in Scotland. In most cases a court action must be raised within three years.

    About the estate

In Scotland the grant that allows an executor to deal with an estate is called confirmation, not probate.

    What you need

    What you need

We do not ask for any detail about your family here. Tell us only as much as you wish on the next step.

    About the property

Missives are the letters between the solicitors that form the contract. Once they are concluded you are bound.

    About the problem at work

Employment tribunal time limits are short, often three months less one day.

    About the dispute

    A few details

There is nothing further to choose here. Please describe the situation in your own words on the next step.

    Your details

We ask for an email address only. Nobody will telephone you out of the blue.

    What happens next

We read your enquiry, work out which area of Scots law it belongs to, and pass it to one Scottish solicitor practice we work with that handles that type of work. That firm will contact you directly to take it further, and may ask for more information before deciding whether it can act.

We never send your enquiry to more than one firm at a time, and we never sell your details.

    Confirm your instructions

Read this carefully. Your enquiry is not sent unless you tick the box.

Sending this enquiry does not instruct anyone to act for you. A solicitor acts for you only once that firm has accepted your instructions in writing.
